H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Siridhorn presided over the opening ceremony of i-CREATe 2023

On August 10, 2023, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Siridhorn,the honorary president of the Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. ThePrincess Mother, graciously presided over the opening ceremony of the16th International Convention on Rehabilitation Engineering andAssistive Technology (i-CREATe) 2023. The event took place at theScience Park, National Science and Technology Development Agency(NSTDA), in Pathum Thani Province. This annual convention, whichcommenced in 2007, is a collaborative effort between NTSDA of Thailandand the Singapore Therapeutic, Assistive and Rehabilitative Technology(START) Center of Singapore. Its primary aim is to serve as a platform forthe advancement of assistive and rehabilitative technology in Asia.

The chairperson of the organizing committee for this special occasion was Prof. Dr. Pairat Tachayapong, a board member ofthe Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. The Princess Mother. Furthermore, Clinical Professor Niwes Nantachit, M.D., whoserves as the Secretary-General of the Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. The Princess Mother, delivered a keynote speechthat explored the foundation’s innovations spanning the past, present, and future.

A Meeting with the Ministry of Public Health

On August 11, 2023, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry ofPublic Health, the Deputy Director General of Medical Services, alongwith the Director of the Sirindhorn National Medical RehabilitationInstitute and their staff, extended a warm welcome to the SecretaryGeneral of the Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. The Princess Motherand the administrative team members. The purpose of this meeting atthe Ministry of Public Health was to explore potential collaborations inthe areas of academic affairs and academic services.

MoU signing with Chiang Mai Technical College

On August 9, 2023, the Deputy Secretary General of the ProsthesesFoundation of H.R.H. The Princess Mother signed a Memorandum ofUnderstanding (MoU) with the Director of Chiang Mai Technical College.This MoU serves as an extension of the previous five-year agreement,wherein the two institutions collaborate on curriculum development inOrthotics and training programs aimed at enhancing the prosthetics andorthotics knowledge and skills of the students.

Thai Urethane Plastic Co. Ltd. welcomed the Prostheses Foundation

On September 11, 2023, Thai Urethane Plastic Co. Ltd., led by its CEOand administration team, warmly welcomed the Secretary General, aboard member, and the administrative staff of the ProsthesesFoundation of H.R.H. The Princess Mother to their Bangkok office. Theprimary objective of this meeting was to express gratitude to thecompany and engage in discussions regarding the support andcollaboration between the two organizations. Remarkably, ThaiUrethane Plastic Co. Ltd. has been consistently providing materials toassist the foundation for more than two decades.

A visit to the foundation by Center of Medical Rehabilitation, Lao PDR

On July 19, 2023, the Director of the Center of Medical Rehabilitationin the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, along with the staffmembers, made a courtesy visit to the Secretary General of theProstheses Foundation of H.R.H. The Princess Mother at thefoundation’s office in Chiang Mai. The visitors received a briefintroduction to the foundation and then proceeded to visit the 30thAnniversary Exhibition Hall of the Foundation.

A visit to the foundation by Tridhos Three-Generation Community for Learning Camp

Teachers and students joining the Tridhos Three-GenerationCommunity for Learning Camp from Prem International School inChiang Mai paid a visit to the Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. ThePrincess Mother on 9 September 2023. Upon arrival, they receiveda warm welcome by the Secretary General and administrative staffof the foundation. Subsequently, they had an opportunity toexplore the Foundation’s 30th Anniversary Exhibition Hall.

A training program in Orthosis for technicians from Royal Prosthetic Workshops

The Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. The Princess Mother hosted atraining program in Upper Limb Orthosis during 7 – 11 August 2023. Thisprogram welcomed technicians from various Royal Prosthetic LegWorkshops as a crucial component of the personnel developmentproject for prosthetic and orthotic professionals. This training programreceived support from the National Lottery Office under the Ministry ofFinance.

Medical residents visited the foundation

The administration of the Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. The Princess Motherhad an opportunity to welcome medical residents from Padjajarun University inBandung Indonesia and from Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University to thefoundation during 28 August – 1 September 2023. They received instructionsand trainings from the foundation’s medical doctors and subsequently visitedthe foundation’s 30th Anniversary Exhibition Hall.

Summary of Royal Mobile Prosthetic Leg Unit Services for the 2023 Fiscal Year

The ceremony of offering royal prosthetic legs to amputees in Lampang Province

On 25 August, Professor Emeritus Kasem Watanachai, privycouncilor and chairman of the board of the ProsthesesFoundation of H.R.H. The Princess Mother presided over theCeremony of Offering Royal Prosthetic Legs to Amputees inLampang Province. This 164th Royal Mobile Prosthetic LegUnit was co-organized by Lampang Province and theProstheses Foundation during 20 – 25 August 2023 at theprovincial hall where 72 prosthetic legs were fabricated foramputees who came to receive the service.

The Opening Ceremony of the Royal Mobile Prosthetic Leg Unit in Nakhon Si Thammarat

On July 16, 2023, the governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincepresided over the 163rd Royal Mobile Prosthetic Leg Unit event,which was a collaboration between the Prostheses Foundation ofH.R.H. The Princess Mother and the province. This mobile clinictook place during 16 – 21 July 2023, at the Nakhon Si ThammaratMunicipality Hall, where a total of 118 prosthetic legs werefabricated for individuals in need of these services. TheProstheses Foundation organizes approximately five Royal MobileProsthetic Leg Units annually to different regions in the country.

Prosthetic Legs for Dogs

On July 4, 2023, the Prostheses Foundation had an opportunity ofwelcoming Boonrod, a one-year-old male dog, for a prosthetic leg service. Boonrod had lost his leg since birth and received his first prosthetic legfrom the foundation when he was four months old. He marked a significantmilestone as the first dog to be introduced to the Prostheses Foundationby the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. This event resulted in aMemorandum of Understanding between the two institutes, aiming toprovide free prosthetic legs for all animals.

A donation from Bangkok Metropolis Motor Co., Ltd.

Bangkok Metropolis Motor Co., Ltd. generously contributed1,000,000 Baht to the Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. ThePrincess Mother on June 16, 2023. Mr. Wiriya Trangadisaikul,CEO of Bangkok Metropolis Motor Co., Ltd., together with hisfamily, warmly welcomed the secretary general andadministrative staff of the foundation to their home, wherethey made this substantial donation. Notably, the companyhas been a steadfast supporter of the foundation for severalyears, consistently supplying prosthetic parts free of charge.

A donation from Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation

On 5 July 2023, the Suthirat Yoovidhya Foundation made a generousdonation of 1,000,000 Baht to the Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. ThePrincess Mother at the Prostheses Foundation’s Office in Bangkok. Ms.Suthirat Yoovidhya has continually been supporting the ProsthesesFoundation for over a decade.

The donation of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to the Prostheses Foundation

On June 22, 2023, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha ChakriSirindhorn graciously granted the Secretary-General of theProstheses Foundation of Her Royal Highness The PrincessMother, along with the former Secretary-General andmembers of the Chiang Mai University Alumni Association anaudience. This meeting was convened for the purpose ofpresenting a donation of 500,000 Baht to the foundation. The donation was made during a gathering held at thereception room of Chiang Mai International Airport and wascontributed by the CMU – Chiang Mai Marathon 2022,organized by the Chiang Mai University Alumni Association.

Board member of the Prostheses Foundation donated the money

On August 25, 2023, Professor Emeritus Kasem Wattanachai,Privy Councilor and Chairman of the Board of the ProsthesesFoundation of H.R.H. The Princess Mother, warmly welcomedMr. Vichit Chinwongworakul to the foundation. During thisspecial event, Mr. Vichit made a generous donation of1,000,000 Baht to support the foundation’s mission andactivities

Donation of knee joints and money by Gaew Siang Dham Facebook page

On 26 June 2023, the owner of the Gaew Siang Dham Facebook pagedonated knee joints worth 352,000 Baht to the Prostheses Foundation ofH.R.H. The Princess Mother. Additionally, she contributed 150,000 Baht tothe foundation during the Royal Mobile Prosthetic Leg Unit event in NakhonSi Thammarat. These funds were generously contributed by the audiencefollowing her Facebook page.
